The title Homemade Exotic carries an inherent tension between the intimately familiar and the unexpectedly foreign. It presents an exoticism that does not await us thousands of miles away, but one hidden within the thorough observation of our most immediate surroundings. The series intentionally resonates with the summer holiday season; the drawings occasionally incorporate objects gathered during summer wanderings — personal souvenirs that, at a certain point, became a natural part of the home environment.

Through my drawings, I seek to capture the moment when the home surprises us with its own dynamics and subjectivity. I perceive it not as a static backdrop, but as an active ecosystem with its own laws, fluidity, and hidden life. These drawings are an invitation to discover unknown worlds within the four walls that we usually consider to be fully explored.
